human in the making 1 ...

walking among the flowers
while those flittery winged wisps floated
   and swooped and bounced
in all their glorious colours
a favourite thingtodo in the afternoon

in the morning
watching the longnecked longlegged creatures
strain for the lighter younger leaves higher up
as the fat wooly shortlegged ones snagged the grasses
and the funnylooking screechers swung by their tails
   from branch to branch
   tree to tree
flinging fruit skins through the air as they sailed

birds everywhere
big and small
huge wingspans masking the sun as they soared by
flipping and zooming and swooping
like they owned the wind
bluesky their canvas

in the evenings the seawashed sand captured footmarks
flat stones skipped across the slipppery waterface
slippery creatures rolled over and over
in and out of the water
easy as you please

the hardshell's sweet water wet the throat
but that called for climbing among the long drooping leaves
grabbing the green fruit and twisting twisting till they dropped ..
if you wait till they turn brown the water dries up
and the fruit under the hardshell gets hard
still good though
just different ..
like the water better ...

where's Other .. ?

..... . . .    ... . .. ..    .

walking among the flowers
the incredible scent of rose and jasmine
   pleasing
the flashing colours of the parrot and the duck's neck
   entertaining

... where's the human  ?

furry fox entwines it's tail ..
   almost tripping me
arresting the fall by grabbing a branch ..
crazy fox ..

don't see human today ... . . ..

ha! those flying fish can seriously get up there !
must have been 30 feet up ...

.... .
"human .. where are you  ? "

"over here "

"ah.. see you now ..  "

"i'm eating this orangefruit
want some? "

"hmmm... "

"delicious
and full of sweet juice
wonder why i never thought to pick this one before .. "

"what do you call it? "

"... call it?
call it .. . ..? "

"what is it's name? "

"what is name? "

"the word you use to identify it "

" . .. . orangefruit .. i guess . . . "

"fair enough.. "

" .. orangefruit .. looks like orangefruit .. ... "

"that's fine.. orangefruit is cool "

"orangefruit.. orangefruit ..  ..
and this one is called man-go ..
man-go "

"man-go .. why man-go ? "

"it's just man-go is all ...
smooth sweet yellow stuff ..
and the skin is good too .. .. . "

"so what about that one .. . .? "

"the red one? .. mmmmm.. . that's apull "

"the long yellow one ... "

"banana .. ... . banana "

"strange callname "

"that's what those screechy longtails call them
when they swing from tree to tree ...
'banana banana banana' .. "

.... . . . " and the screechy longtails ... ? "

"what .. "

"what do you call them? "

" . ..  .. ... . monki ! "

"monki .. why monki? "

"they ...... look like monki is why "

...

that's the way it went ..
sometimes there was no callnaming
just walking and swimming and eating and sleeping
the 2 of them
enjoying each other's company ...

some days they didn't see each other
or talk
or walk
or swim
or eat together
... they missed each other ..

"where's Other? .. haven't seen the Other in a while .. "

...

eventually
all the fruits and trees and fish and insects
and animals and birds and flowers
and stuff
were namecalled

and human rehearsed their callnames
sometime had to ask the Other to remember ..
the Other would laugh
"you callnamed it ! " ..
"i know i know ... just don't recall it's callname is all .. "

... . .. ..... ... . . ......... ....... ... . . ... .   .

"where are you? "
"here .. in the water "
..  ..
"what are you doing? "
"playing with the dolphins "
.. . .
"you ever wondered why there aren't any others like you? "
"like me?
you mean .. .. . like me? "
"yes " .. .. .
"yes .. . . but i daren't ask .. "
"why? "
"didn't know there were supposed to be more me's .. "
.. . .
"would you like that? "
"love it !
tired of only others
and no more me's to talk to ... i mean ...
there's you .. but it's not the samething .. "
"i know..
.. tomorrow, maybe "
"tomorrow? "
"we'll find other you's .. "

" ... . .. . .. . . wow .. . "

. .. .
