life 4 ..~ trekkin' out ..

wow

not sure where to start on this
'the beginning' some would say
well i'm not very good at remembering
and when it comes to remembering
   chronologically
well .. forget it

so
i think i'll spew it out
   as it comes out
   regardless of sequence
therefore it'll be disjointed
like my brain

the point of the next several blog posts
will be to describe
in whatever detail and order my brain sees
the most remarkable journey i have taken to date

it's been remarkable in many respects
but the aspect that presents itself as outstanding
is that of spiritual war
   armies engaged
   fierce battles
apparently with santa cruz as the major front

from almost the 'beginning'
there has been great conflict ...
one side moves
and the other counters
one side launches
the other defends
one side destroys
the other rebuilds
   or retools
   or resupplies
and on
and on
and on
till this very day

i am weary
worn
but not sad
not depressed
   much
simply astounded
   that i made it
that i retained all my faculties in the making of it

but mostly ...
the incredulity of it all
it reeks of the chronicles of bilbo
   one little hobbit
   from underhill
   being instrumental in huge ways
   influencing kingdoms and peoples
   on a massive scale
dwarves and elves and trolls and goblins and orcs and wargs and dragons and giant spiders
in the midst of conflict and war and ....
spiritual battle .......
wizards of white and grey and brown and blue

one
little
peaceloving
hobbit
from underhill
one
was the instrument of change
for the defeat of evil
by good
in that age
.....

not that i'm claiming to be that instrument
or that i'm bilbo in disguise...
just sayin' ...
this battlejourney reminds me ...

the enemy has been trumped
all along these 3,000+ miles
stepbystep
pointbypoint
and we are here
alive
and the new battle is enjoined
on new terrain

God
my god
has kept the satan at bay
and i am in my canaan
to do his bidding
and nothing
and noone
will deter me
regardless ...

the passage here is a fav of a friend
posted on the bathroom mirror
the last time we met
it is apropos ...

... God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”
has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory
in the face of Jesus Christ.
Now we have this treasure in clay jars,
so that this extraordinary power may be from God
   and not from us.
We are pressured in every way but not crushed;
we are perplexed but not in despair;
we are persecuted but not abandoned;
we are struck down but not destroyed.
We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
For we who live are always given over to death because of Jesus,
so that Jesus’ life may also be revealed in our mortal flesh.

this is the issue
displaying God
in the face of Jesus
through me
to the hurting

i intend to do that

stay tuned

shalom
