please watch this film
.......................................................................
there is great suffering
all around us
in a variety of forms
and people carry massive loads of stuff
that hurts
awful stuff
that makes me shudder to think a human is this dehumanized
this humiliated
this broken
this abandoned ...
... almost sounds like someone i know
who walked a road marked by just those descriptives
right into the pits of Hell itself
i think he knows
i think he's been there/done that
i think of him
God wants shalom for it all
for each of those suffering people
for each of the 27 million in this film
believe that !
that's the reason for the Jesus event
the move that began a mustard seed revolution
towards shalom
ever growing
ever spreading
fertilizing the world along the way
selah ... ... ... ... ... ... .. .
we seek for Thy will to be done on Earth
as in Heaven
I don't think I can click that link. It sounds like the ASPCA commercial that I can't watch due to my emotions. But, from what you have written, my take on it is this: none of us common, ordinary people can make radical, widespread changes. We can, however, work where God puts us to alleviate what suffering/hardships/loneliness we can. That is the essence of Jesus....living, breathing, acting on His behalf so the broken "see" Him in us. We never know what one act of kindness or one kind word or one hug can do for someone. Yesterday a long lost friend returned after months away..he was drawn back...I have no doubt. He is our friend who knows where he is loved and accepted. Enough rambling
ReplyDeletethanks for that
ReplyDeleteAnd I can do that right where I am; I don't need to leave my town to find suffering. I may be small and insignificant in most people's eyes, but God sees me and what I do differently. We all can't be in D.C. Or Philly or Chicago or San Francisco or L.A. Or Seattle or Calcutta......and He doesn't want us all in those places. Somebody has to be in the trivial little places doing seemingly trivial little things for the kingdom. I am reminded of an encounter yesterday with two elderly ladies who had not seen each other in a year. The one, a shut-in, was moved to tears that her friend from across the ocean had come back to her humble little house to see her. Tell me she did not see Jesus in Mrs. S.
