it's a muggyish early summer night
the crickets and the frogs and the whatyamacallits
are whistling joyfully ...
i'm walking the dog
and a thought occurs ...
............. . . ... ... .. ...
perspective
trying to gain
something of a good balance
to gain
i have to occasionally distance ...
not from 'you' ...
for me
creating space
for me
and my Elder Brother
to be together
just there
perhaps talking
occasionally
perhaps not
mostly
i speak my heart
mostly
i listen
well .... maybe not mostly
but that's ok
he listens
to me
and
we're there
in the distance i made
for us
it's not about 'you'
it's about me
this time
and him
my master
and allowing him
to change me
while he listens
into him
that was the prologue for my next blog ..... . .. .... . . .
peace
More people need to do this.....no matter where they do it. For me, when I'm home alone I walk around the house talking out loud to Him. There is no one to hear; it's just me and Him.
ReplyDeleteI want to add that I don't think God cares where we talk to Him; He just would like to hear from more of us. I may be cooking, cleaning the tub, hanging laundry......it doesn't matter. That is what makes it a "relationship"......it has to be a constant communication, not a morning devotional and then not think about Him or talk to Him until bedtime or the next morning. I am not faulting those who do it that way; I just believe as we mature/grow in our relationship with Him, we are free to have the ongoing dialogue (or monologue) with Him. I know I have grown into that in the last ten years or so. ....just more of my rambling thoughts
